Bhattacharjee expects to compete in AEast soon

Taking over a 3-12-2 team and turning them into a playoff team the next year seems like an impossibility, but not for Neel Bhattacharjee. The Bearcats new head coach firmly believes that if he can bring in the type of talent he plans to, the Bearcats should be able to compete in the wide open conference very soon.

"There's growth that can be had, but this isn't a five to six year project," Bhattacharjee said. "I fully expect that we'll be competing for America East championships in the not too distant future. I really believe that. If I do things the way I want to do it, my staff has the same vision that I have, we bring in the players that we're looking to bring in that really, given how much parody exists in women's soccer in the America East Conference right now that it is pretty wide open. For me, that's exciting that in a short period of time we'll be in the postseason and competing for championships."

The Bearcats have made the America East playoffs nine of the last eleven years and won the conference title in 2004.
