New York AG Announces Deal With Uber
Wednesday, January 6, 2016 7:15 PM EST
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has announced an agreement with ride sharing company Uber.
Uber has agreed to encrypt rider geo-location information and enhance its data security practices. This is in response to calls for protection of its riders’ personal information.
The agreement also requires Uber to pay a $20,000 fine for failure to provide notice to drivers and the New York Attorney General after data breach in 2014.
