Update on Johnson City Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opening

By Jason Weinstein.
While New York state is set to officially launch it's medical marijuana program Thursday, the owner of the dispensary in Johnson City says it is still working to get the site open.

A representative from Vireo Health says the company is working around the clock with contractors, local authorities, and the New York State Department of Health to get the dispensary open as soon as possible. The company wouldn't say whether it would be open within the month.

The cannabis at 20 dispensaries throughout the state will only be provided to those who have qualifying conditions. These include cancer, HIV or Parkinson's disease. Only authorized patients or certified caregivers will be allowed in the dispensary.
