Scouting report has Lady Bearcats ready for AEast Opener

The Binghamton Bearcats begin conference play on the road on Wednesday with a noon start against Stony Brook. The Sea Wolves are typically among the most competitive teams in the conference and while the Bearcats already have more wins (5) than they did last year (4), they're still a relatively young and inexperience team.

Even so, the scouting report is out on the Sea Wolves and they're good, they're fast, and they're athletic according to Bearcats Coach Linda Cimino. So while it will be a tough test, the Bearcats feel they're ready.

"They kind of have a full package," Cimino said. "They're very athletic, they're a fast team so we'll see. We probably have to play a little bit of zone against them to match up. I think if Alyssa can defend their inside game, which we didn't have last year, it will make a difference this year. But the one thing about Stony Brook is they rebound the ball extremely well offensively and we, as you can see, give up a lot of offensive rebounds and that's something we're going to be talking about in practice [Tuesday]."

Tip-off scheduled for 12:00 as part of a conference initiative to bring school kids to college hoops games.
