Bearcats optimistic about 0-0 conference record

While it's not technically hitting the restart button on the season, the BU Bearcats have a fresh slate heading into conference play. While their non-conference portion of the schedule leaves them at a disappointing 3-10, a few clutch wins in the America East and a good playoff run could still be in the cards. Even with such optimism, you can't totally erase what's happened the last two months.

"It's a fine line because yes, you are 0-0, but that's certainly an optimistic approach," said Head Coach Tommy Dempsey. "Which is good, you want to be optimistic, you want the players to be optimistic. But at the same time, we have to start playing better or we'll quickly be in a hole in league play too. We have a really tough start to our league schedule. You're not just going to block out everything that has gone on in the first two months. But you have to use the things you've seen to try to improve, especially at the offensive end and that's a big part of my job."

Binghamton hosts perennial conference powerhouse Stony Brook in the AEast opener Wednesday at 7:00.
