Police: Man Shoots Sister's Dog after Dispute

By FOX 40 Staff.
A Conklin man has been arrested for shooting his sister's dog.

On Saturday January 2, 2016, at about 11:30 a.m., New York State Police arrested Kobe S. Hanns, 19, of Conklin for the felony of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Police responded to a 911 report of a dog being shot outside a home on Still Water Road in the Town of Conklin. An investigation determined that Hanns had been in a dispute with his sister because her four year old pit bull had just urinated inside their home. Police say that after threatening to kill her pet, Hanns took the dog outside and shot and killed it with his shotgun.

Hanns was arraigned in the Town of Conklin court and was remanded to the Broome County jail with no bail set at this time. His next court date is pending.
