Art Pieces Display Family History in Binghamton Restaurant
During the First Friday of the new year, the owner of a Binghamton restaurant is showing off art that shows her family's history.
Citrea Restaurant and Bar is displaying the late Abraham Alt's work named "Untitled". Alt is the grandfather of co-owner Victoria Alt. Abraham Alt graduated from art school in the 1930s. He went on to be a cartographer in Newfoundland in WWII. Landscape paintings from his time in the army hang in the restaurant among cubism and realism pieces.
Some of his art pieces have been shown in Albright Knox Art Museum in Buffalo. The exhibit is expected to be displayed in the restaurant throughout spring.
