New Year, New Judge for the Town of Union

By Kerry Longobucco.
A former prosecutor has left behind the Broome County District Attorney's Office to begin a new endeavor.

Former prosecutor Veronica Gorman was joined by her husband and and four children as she was sworn in as Town of Union judge.

Prior to taking on this title, Gorman spent four years with the D.A.'s office, learning the ins and outs of the legal system from veteran D.A. Gerald Mollen -- who was in the audience as the new judge took her oath.

"I came to Broome County to work with Gerry Mollen. He is a legacy with his 28 year career," Gorman said. "So, I could think of no better mentor to have gotten me to the point where I am now."

Gorman is a Town of Union resident. She says she's looking forward to serving her own community.
