Police: Drunk Driver Responsible for Three-Tractor-Trailer Crash

An accident that caused a tractor trailer to swerve off the road and crash into a grove of trees near the Kirkwood Industrial Park was the result of drunk driving.

One of the tractor trailers was East Bound on Colesvlle Rd and crossed over the double yellow lines and struck two other tractor trailers who were west bound.

The suspect, Daniel L. Masonic, 54, of Clinton St in Binghamton, was arrested for DWI and brought to the Sheriff’s Office where he was discovered to have a blood alcohol content of .18%.

The accident occurred late Monday morning on Colesville Road. Police said no one was injured but there was property damage, as NYSEG crews responded to the scene.

One truck landed on property owned by NYSEG. The extent of the damage is unknown at this time.

Masonic was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Commercial Vehicle with a BAC of over .06% BAC all Misdemeanors.
