Unemployment, Labor Force Down in Binghamton

By Jason Weinstein.
Unemployment was down in Binghamton in November, but, once again, the labor force shrunk in the area as well.

The jobless rate in November was 5.3 percent. This compares to 5.8 percent in November of 2014. However the labor force dropped by 800 workers over the past year. The leisure and hospitality sector saw job losses of more than nine percent. Education and health services saw an increase in jobs of about two percent over the past year.
