Finalized Binghamton Parking Study Expected in February
Some solutions to the parking squeeze in Downtown Binghamton could be on the way.
City leaders and members of the Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study are awaiting the final results of a study by Nelson/Nygaard Consulting Associates.
Some things being addressed are consistent parking meters and an increase of on-street parking in close proximity to restaurants and downtown facilities.
The parking study should be finalized in February. More public meetings on parking are expected in January, the BMTS said. One of the projects being funded by the Southern Tier's recent win in the $500 Upstate Revitalization Inititiative is at 7 Hawley Street in Binghamton. Part of that development could include parking.
