Red Cup Challenge Encourages BU Students To Help Tidy Up The City

By Fox 40 News Staff.
A group of BU students, along with community members participated in the Red Cup Challenge on Sunday.

BU's College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA) partnered with the office of Binghamton Mayor Rich David to clean up some of the city's neighborhoods.

The Participants came out to join the cleanup that started in front of Binghamton high school.

"This involves cleaning up the busy streets of Binghamton this time of year and making this a better place to be. I think they just want to start this time of year, to make it a better time of year for the community. It's a busy time of year for everyone and the community is a mess, said BU Assistant Dean of Community and Public Affairs, Jean Dorak.

This is the first time the clean up has taken place, but the city is hoping to continue it for many years to come.
