Robots Take Over Barnes And Noble

By Fox 40 News Staff.
Barnes and Noble got a special visit from some robots on Saturday. The Tigertronics robotics team hosted their Science Experiment Day at the Barnes and Noble in Vestal earlier.

The group showcased a variety of experiments including the Incredible Hoop Glider, the Bouncy Ball, the Water Uphill, the Tornado In a Bottle, and the Fireproof Balloon, all apart of their annual fundraiser.

"We do a lot of fundraising throughout the year and this is our biggest fundraiser, Barnes and Noble, the community comes out and supports us. It's amazing, and in addition to building the robots like we have here the kids are doing science experiments for the kids in the back of the store," said Adviser of Tigertronics U.S. first robotics team Deb Daugherty.

Tigertronics is a competitive robotics team based in Endicott and includes team members from both Union-Endicott and Vestal. The team competes in the first robotics challenge each year. A portion of Barnes and Noble purchases at the fundraiser will benefit the organization.
