Aldo Rossi Police Memorial Basketball Game Fights Drunk Driving

Police men from all over Broome County came out to play a basketball game in memory of an officer who lost his life to a drunk driver.

Stop DWI, hosted the 3rd Aldo Rossi Police memorial game today during their winter basketball tournament taking place this weekend.

Officers, traded in their uniforms for basketball gear, to play a game to raise awareness of the dangers of impaired driving.

"December is typically the deadliest month of the year for impaired driving crashes, so this tournamentkicks off the month, kicks off the season, basketball and kicks off the holiday season when we want to remind people to stay safe on the roads." said Stop DWI Coordinator, Chris Marion.

Officer Rossi served in Port Dickinson and was killed by a drunk driver in 2008. Proceeds from the tournament are donated to the crime victims assistance center to support victim services.
