Upcoming Fundraiser Will Benefit Johnson City Arson Victim

A benefit is behind held this weekend to raise money for Jessica Baxter, 27, who was severely burned in an October arson in Johnson City.

According to event organizers, 70 percent of Baxter's body was burned in a house fire that was set intentionally on Oct. 19. She remains in fair condition at the Clarke Burn Center at the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, according to hospital officials.

A baked ziti dinner has been planned to help cover Baxter's medical expenses. It will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Social Club, located at 63 Eldredge St. in Binghamton. There will also be raffles and musical entertainment.

Tickets are $10 for adults and children over the age of 12, and $5 for children between 5 and 12. Children under the age of 5 are free.
