SUNY Broome Volunteers Pull All-Nighter

By Alex Howard.
Could you stay up for 24 hours straight? That's what volunteers at SUNY Broome are doing for it's first ever Giving Day.

It's part of a national campaign, kicked off in 2012 that has already raised millions for non-profits around the globe. Starting Midnight Tuesday, volunteers at SUNY Broome have been waiting sleeplessly by the phones for donations to help provide scholarships to SUNY Broome students.

They are also selling baked goods at the Student Center, and are spreading the word on social media with the hashtag #broome24.

"SUNY Broome is very concerned about national debt, so for us to be sure that our students come in with an affordable education, we want to offer as many scholarships that we can to our students." said Adnrea Roma, the Development Director for the BCC Foundation.
