UPDATE: Victim of Floral Ave. Arson Discharged From Hospital

By Kerry Longobucco.
One of the two women who were severely burned in an October arson in Johnson City has been discharged from the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, hospital officials told Fox 40 Monday.

A supervising nurse in the burn at the Clarke Burn Center at Upstate Medical confirmed that Erica Kurtz, the mother of the two young boys who died in the fire, is no longer in the hospital. Kurtz, 27, and Jessica Baxter, 27, were both severely burned in the blaze.

Baxter's condition is also improving -- she was recently upgraded from critical to fair condition.

Baxter's ex-boyfriend, Dwight Burton, is accused of intentionally starting the fire. On Monday morning, he pleaded not guilty to a slew of charges, including felony murder, attempted murder and arson.
