Cortland Stabbing Leaves Man Dead

A Cortland man died this morning after an argument ended in a stabbing.

Cortland police responded the incident around 12:06AM in the parking lot of 52 Elm Street. Authorities found a male victim who was stabbed in the torso upon their arrival. He was transported to Cortland Regional Medical Center, where he later died from the injury.

Police found Mark Dill, 58 of Cranston, RI at the scene and he was taken into custody for his involvement in the homicide. Dill is being charged with 2 felonies, Manslaughter in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree.

Police say that an unknown argument had taken place prior to the stabbing and that the investigation is continuing.
