NYS Increases Security At Planned Parenthood Clinics Following Colorado Shooting
By Faith Jessie. Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced increased security measures at Planned Parenthood clinics across New York State.
This follows, yesterday's shooting at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs that left 3 people dead and 9 injured. One police officer was killed and 5 were injured during the standoff which lasted for hours.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive of the shooting or if there was any connection with Planned Parenthood.
Governor Cuomo calls for an increase of patrols at Planned Parenthood clinics and said New York State Police will visit the more than 60 Planned Parenthood clinics on Monday to assist with security and emergency planning measures.
The gunman responsible for Friday's attack in Colorado was taken into custody.
