Ornament Sale Benefits Lourdes Hospice Patients

Posted:
It's a holiday fundraising tradition more than ten years in the making. Lourdes Hospice is selling ornaments to raise money for the care of its patients.

Volunteers manned a booth at the busy Oakdale Mall throughout the day on Friday. The 2015 Angel Ornament is a hand-crafted keepsake item. Its on sale for $15 each.

All proceeds go toward home-care for hospice patients. Volunteers say being at home makes all the difference for someone who is nearing the end of their life.

"You've got your family, your friends, your pets. Your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren," Richard Lupold, a Lourdes Hospice volunteer, said. "We can all be there when you need us, when you want us the most."

Lupold said the holidays are the best time of year to sell the ornaments -- as people are in the spirit of giving.

If you'd like to buy one, you can stop by the Oakdale Mall Center Court on Saturday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
