Libous Sentenced to 6 Months House Arrest, 50K Fine, Probation
By Jason Weinstein. Former State Senator Tom Libous was sentenced today to six months of home confinement, a $50,000 fine and two years of probation in a White Plains courtroom today.
Libous was convicted in July on one count of Providing a False Statement to an FBI agent.
After consulting with it's cancer expert the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a pre-sentencing filing it would not seek jail time for Libous. Libous was diagnosed with prostate cancer and has been given a year or less to live.
