Binghamton Man Facing Grand Larceny Charges for Unbuilt Home
A Binghamton man has been arrested for grand larceny after allegedly collecting a down payment and never starting a construction project.
A New York State Police investigation determined that Timothy Rypkema, 58, and his company, Freelance Construction and Concrete, LLC, failed to build a home in the Town of Candor after signing a contract and collecting a down payment of $22,000
According to the investigation, construction on the home never started and Rypkema did not respond to letters inquiring about the status of the project.
Construction was supposed to be complete by September 1, 2015.
