Suspicious Activity Leads to Marijuana Arrest

A Binghamton man has been arrested for criminal possession of marijuana after suspicious activity.

Richard E Starzak, 31, of Birch St in Binghamton, was arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious male near a vehicle Tuesday on Glendale Dr. in Town of Union. A local resident called in the report after attempting to approach the man who was sitting on a curb near a vehicle. The man quickly left the area and was located by a Sheriff’s Patrol on Glendale Dr. near Anson Rd.

Police say they smelled a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle. The vehicle was then searched where an ounce of marijuana was found.

Starzak was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Union Court.
