In Binghamton Tuesday morning, Claudia Tenney announced her bid for the Republican nomination for the 22nd Congressional District seat currently held by Republican Richard Hanna. The Republican primary will be held in June, 2016. Hanna has held office since 2013.
“Politicians in Washington tell us what we want to hear in the district, but vote the opposite when they go to Washington. Hanna continues to surrender our principles on the steps of the Capitol and sides with the President and Democrats to keep his seat in power,” said Tenney.
Tenney is currently a third term Assemblywoman for the 101st District.
In 2014, Tenney ran against Hanna in the primary, but lost by 6%.
