Chinese Acrobats Impress at BU

Audience members at BU Monday night were transported all the way to China.

Tonight's show featured a lavish display of Chinese acrobats and dancers.

The National Circus and Acrobats of the People's Republic of China showed off their skills at the Anderson Center at BU.

It was called Peking Dreams.

The show included elaborate acrobatics, beautiful costumes, and graceful dances.

Since 1958, artists at the National Circus and Acrobats have been dedicated to innovation and excellence in traditional Chinese-style performance.

The company has performed in more than 50 countries and has won numerous awards.

It was certainly a show the audience won't forget.

"The finesse, the movements. They're controlled. Just to see that and there's no strain in their eyes. It's almost like they're floating," said attendee Brendan Holmes.

"It's very magical. It's a great event for children and families."

The current production of Peking Dreams was performed for the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and it has been performed more than 600 times total.
