Mini Golf Tournament Raises Money For Johnson City Arson Victims

A miniature golf tournament brought the community together today to raise money for the victims of the gruesome Johnson City arson that took place on Floral Avenue last month.

Thirty-six mini golf teams came out to glow golf at the Oakdale Mall today to compete for first place.

In addition to golfing, participants could also take part in a Chinese auction and a variety of raffles. All to benefit the victims of the tragic event.

"It's just a joy to be able to be able to help anybody. Years ago, my family had a tree fall on our house and the neighbors and friends were just very helpful and supportive. It's just something neighbors do, and these are our neighbors," said Pastor Ron Wenzinger.

Nothing can replace the lives of the two children that were killed in the fire, or take away the memories that the two women who escaped are enduring.

However, Equinox Broadcasting along with the Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church created the event with efforts financially help the family that is coping with it.
