Dempsey pleased with BU's exhibition win

The Tommy Dempsey Era at BU has seen its fair share of losses and fewer wins, but this year that all might start to change. In what he, the players, and the fans hope is a sign of things to come, the Bearcats blew out D-III SUNY Cobleskill in their one and only exhibition of the season 92-53 on Friday.

Critics will say it's a gimme win over a D-III school and that BU was supposed to win, but keep in mind, just last year, among chemistry issues and injuries, the Bearcats lost to Division II Caldwell. So, for Desmpey, the big win over Cobleskill was a positive sign.

"It was important to win and win decisively from a confidence factor," Dempsey said. "We're a team that hasn't won a lot of games together so to get out there and perform well and get that winning feeling in the locker room and to do it in a fashion where you can be proud of your performance, I think those things are important."

The Bearcats hit the road to begin the regular season on Friday against St. Bonaventure.
