B-Sens skid hits 4 in loss to Amercks

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators fell 3-1 to the Rochester Americans in their first game of a three-in-three weekend pushing their losing streak to four straight games.

Colby Robak scored his first goal of the of the year on the power play to give the host a 1-0 lead with less than 30 seconds remaining in the opening frame. Rochester took the lead into the first intermission outshooting the B-Sens 14-8.

Rochester doubled their lead just before the midway point of the second when Justin Dupuy wristed home his first of the year. Binghamton managed to cut the lead to 2-1 with just over five minutes to play in the period when Patrick Mullen completed a shorthanded 2-on-1 rush off an assist from Max McCormick. Jack Nevins restored the hosts’ two-goal lead with 54 seconds to play in the period with an even-strength marker off assists from Matt Ellis and Matt Garbowsky.

The B-Sens failed to close the gap over the final 20 minutes of play as the final score stuck with the Amerks holding a 3-1 advantage.

Nathan Lieuwen stopped 27 of 28 shots faced to earn the victory while Driedger fell to 3-2-0 on the season allowing three goals on 28 shots faced.
