Police Make Arrests Over Stolen Baby Formula

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests after a petit larceny complaint at the Price Chopper at 33 Chenango Bridge Rd. in Binghamton. Price Chopper security had been conducting a several week long investigation into the theft of several hundred dollars' worth of baby formula over the course of several days.

Store security was able to positively identify one of the suspects, Linda M. Netherton, 55 of Port Crane, after she used her driver’s license to legitimately purchase other items from the store.

The Sheriff’s Office was able to continue their investigation and identify a second person, Angela M. McCarthy, 33 of Binghamton, working with Netherton after store security cameras recorded the two individuals working together to steal formula.

Both Netherton and McCarthy were arrested early Thursday morning on multiple charges of petit larceny and conspiracy and are in custody at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail.
