New York State To Have Huge Investment in Green Energy?
Are we to expect new financial incentives from New York State to convert to solar energy? That's what the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition and Southern Tier Solar Works spoke on in Endicott today.
The New York Energy Research and Development authority's ny-sun initiative and another group known as Community Solar NY are investing $1 billion in solar energy over the next decade.
"Last winter prices were really high, now they're really low. With solar, once you've installed an array, you know what your electricity is going to cost for the next 30 to 40 years." says Adam Flint, Southern Tier Solar Works Manager.
Officials say anyone can get a free solar site assessment by visiting southerntiersolarworks.org.
