Fire Crews Come Together To Help Find a Cure for Cancer

Posted:
Multiple fire crews in the area are responding to an emergency - but it's not a blaze. Instead, it's the search for a cure for cancer.

Firefighters from Johnson City, Binghamton, and Endicott are selling "Fight for a Cure" t-shirts to benefit the Traci's Hope Foundation. The group raised $1,200 during last year's t-shirt fundraiser, and would like to surpass that total this year.

"Cancer is something that affects everybody whether it's yourself or whether it's somebody in your immediate family or friend, somebody that's a cousin, I can't think of anybody who cancer has not personally touched. So I think this is something that really hits home and it's really important to everybody." said Bob Blakeslee, President of the Johnson City Firefighters Association.

The shirts range in price from $18 to $23 and come in neon pink, blue, or gray. You can go to www.iaff921.org to order one.
