By Jason Weinstein. SUNY Broome has announced it's student enrollment is up five percent, bucking a national trend.
According to the school it added 315 students over the past year to bring it's total enrollment to over 7,200. This is in contrast to a 2.7 percent decline in enrollment in community colleges nationwide. The number of fully online students at SUNY Broome is up nearly 30 percent.
The number of students in a program called Fast Forward increased 33 percent. That program allows students in their last two years of high school to take college-level courses while simultaneously meeting their high school graduation requirements. That program has over 1,300 students.
