The Humane Society in Binghamton Hosts Local Wineries For Fundraiser
A local organization utilizes something that New York has a lot of -- wineries -- to raise funds.
In Binghamton tonight, the Humane Society hosted its fifth annual wine tasting and silent auction.
The event featured a variety of products straight out of local wineries, all proceeds went to help the animals in the shelters. Organizers say these events are important for local animals.
Kim Broderick said "We take animals that usually people think are disposable and give them a home and love, and in turn we can find them a nice home for them to live out their days and learn what being loved is."
The Humane Society is an independent nonprofit. It boasts that it receives no government funding.
