Hundreds Read for the Record at Broome Co. Library

Over 200 local students joined millions around the world to try to set a world record for most people reading the same book on the same day.

213 children ages two through five came to the Broome County Public Library on Court Street in Binghamton to read Not Norman - A Goldfish Story. But it wasn't all about reading. There were plenty of goldfish-themed activities to get kids moving along with the story.

"When you connect the fun activities, when you're moving or creating crafts or something like that with the story that connection gets them more excited about reading," said Sara Reid, Youth Services Librarian at the Broome County Public Library.
