College Day Gives Students Step Up Towards Future Education

Local students are getting a step up towards their future education.

On Wednesday, two sessions of the 44th annual Greater Binghamton College Day took place at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

More than 175 colleges, universities and financial institutions met with thousands of students from area school districts to give them advice on topics such as what programs they offer and financial aid options.

“They have an opportunity to meet with college admissions reps to find out what college majors are out there. What internships are out there. What job placements are out there. What courses they need to take in high school so they can be successful in college,” said Glenn Whittington, Chair of College Day.

Students said that the day helped to guide them towards which colleges were most suitable for their future plans.
