Disability Mentoring Day gives Window into World of Work
By Alexander Howard. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. As a part of their efforts, the Broome-Tioga Disability Awareness Committee is giving locals with disabilities the opportunity to shadow workers.
The program includes featuring opportunities at a variety of workplaces, including Raymond Corporation, Red Lobster, Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena, Pawfessionals, DoubleTree by Hilton and Matthews Planet Pre-Owned. The program also featured a keynote speech from Rick Yarosh, a retired Sergeant of the United States Army who was injured in Iraq.
