By Jason Weinstein.
Dwight Burton, the man accused of murder and arson in the Johnson City fire that killed two boys and injured two others has an extensive criminal history. Meanwhile a preliminary hearing for Burton has been set for Friday.

The blaze happened about 2 am Monday morning on Floral Avenue.
According to family members the women who survived the blaze are Erica Lynn and Jessica Baxter. They say the arson was a crime of passion.

According to court documents, in January of this year Burton was charged with harassment of Baxter. Police say he punched Baxter in an apartment on Endicott Ave in Johnson City.

In 2005 Burton was also charged with burglary in the second degree, and selling cocaine. Broome County District Attorney Gerald Mollen says a preliminary hearing for Burton is scheduled in Johnson City Village Court Friday at 4pm.
