Candidates Speak To Community Face to Face At Candidate Fair

Today the League of Women Voters of Broome and Tioga counties hosted a candidate fair at the public library in Binghamton.

Among those invited were the 52nd New York State Senate, Broome County District attorney candidates and the Binghamton Council.

The event was free to the public and it gave locals a chance to ask the candidates important questions in person.

Although the event focused on engaging the public, the prime target were college students.

"You know, become a more informed student. It's cool to see that a fellow student is actually running for city council. It's pretty inspiring. And, I hope that other students as well can see that they can make a difference even if it's just to go out and vote on election day," said Brianna Cena.

Candidates displayed and handed out campaign materials to promote themselves for the up-coming elections. The elections for New York State Senate is November 3rd, so mark your calenders!
