The assets of a controversial animal rescue charity in Delaware County are about to be dissolved.
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Wednesday his office has obtained an order to sell off the property of the Angel's Gate Animal Hospice in Meredith.
A receiver will sell the real property in the names of Angel's Gate, Inc. and it's President and CEO, Susan Marino. Schneiderman says between 2007 and 2012 Angel's Gate raised over $3.1 million which Marino mismanaged while living on the property of the charity. After the property is sold and creditors are paid the remaining funds will go to another animal care charity.
