Binghamton Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Shooting

A Binghamton man is charged with attempted second degree murder after an early-morning shooting Saturday in the city.

Police charged 26-year-old Walter Andino Jr. in connection to the shooting. Just after two in the morning on Saturday police found a 20-year-old man lying in the roadway in the area of Gerard Avenue and Murray Street.

The victim had a gunshot wound to his chest. Ae is still in critical condition. police say they spotted Andino walking on Thorpe Street and took him into custody without incident. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information should call Binghamton Detectives at 772-7080.
