A man has been found guilty of raping a 17-year-old girl in Binghamton last year.
22-year-old Hemchandra Persaud from Ozone Park, New York was convicted of rape in the third degree Monday.
The rape happened on March 22nd of last year.
The jury failed to reach a verdict on the charge of rape in the first degree.
That charge is still pending. Sentencing for Persaud will be December 21st.
He was released on his own recognizance but was ordered to surrender his passport Thursday.
