Children's Miracle Network Hospital 5K Raises Money for Hospital Aid
More than a dozen runners took to the Vestal Rail Trail in an effort to aid hospitalized children and their families.
This was all part of Love's Travel Stop's second annual Children's Miracle Network Hospital's 5K. Proceeds from Saturday's event will go towards financial assistance at the Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital.
"There's a lot of children out there that are born with deficiencies, or were born with issues, that if it wasn't for the Children's Miracle Network hospitals, the parents would not be able to give that care to those children. So with the help of the Children's Miracle Network, the child gets all the excellent care they could possibly get," said General Manager of Love's Travel Stop Bill Horan.
Organizers say last year they raised more than $6,000 and this year's goal is $7,000.
