Third Annual Roberson Sci-Fi Convention This Weekend

Sci-fi and and pop culture fans, it's time to let your geek flag fly.

For the third year in a row, Roberson Museum is hosting its annual sci-fi convention, Robercon.

Marketing and public relations manager, Jason Fiume, said the highlight of this year's festival is the keynote speaker, Tamora Pierce, a popular teen fantasy fiction writer, as well as a panel of over 35 other authors and illustrators.

"We've got some great illustrators, local comic book stores, and local gaming stores," said Fiume. "It's really great to have a regional presence here. The vendors also suit well for those who are visiting from out of town."

Other highlights of the two-day event include a costume contest,
access to video and table top games, and over 60 vendors and fan groups.

Fiume says the convention will take up every room of the historic mansion and people of all ages are encouraged to come out.

Tickets can be purchased either online or at the door and the event will take place both Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
