A Local Drug Treatment Facility Hosts An Open House
The Addiction Center of Broome County has opened its doors to the public.
The reason? It's National Recovery Month. Community members were permitted to tour the State Street facility and learn more about the treatment process.
One of those involved in the open house said, "It's everywhere and we're having an opiate epidemic right now and it's serious, a matter of life and death and we want people to know that there's a place that you can come to where they can feel comfortable talking about their addiction."
An interesting fact about the terrible drug of heroin is that resistance builds to it as the addiction worsens. Therefore a user needs to take more as time goes on.
