European Food and Culture on Display at Local Festival
If you love authentic Eastern European food, you may want to check out the St. Michael's Carpathian Festival this weekend.
The smell of food - - namely delicacies - - was in the air today during preparation. Specialty dishes will be available including Pirohi, Kolbasi and Holubki.
The annual festival will keep traditions alive including performances by the church's Carpathian dancers.
"I hope that the taste that they get out of the whole experience is that in the midst of how difficult life is, it's still good. And this is one of the bright spots, fellowship and good food and a lot of love," said Father Jim Dutko.
The festival will take place this Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm in the church's recreation center.
