FEMA Delivers More Funding to Owego-Apalachin Schools
By Fox 40 News. US Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer announced FEMA has pledged $11.4 million to the Owego Apalachin School District to rebuild the district's maintenance and storage facilities.
Those structures were damaged in the 2011 flood. FEMA has already released more than $5 million in funding and will pay for 75 percent of the 23 million dollar project. The school district previously received a FEMA award to replace the Owego Elementary School and to rebuild the administration building.
