BU WBB schedule unveiled

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton women's basketball team has announced its 2015-16 schedule, which begins with a Nov. 14 game at Michigan. The 29-game slate includes 13 non-conference games, five of which are at home. In addition, the Bearcats will face each of the other eight America East opponents twice (home and away).

The game against the Wolverines, who advanced to the WNIT semifinals last season, marks Binghamton's first game against a Big Ten Conference opponent since 2011. Michigan is coached by Kim Barnes Arico, who coached current Binghamton head coach Linda Cimino at Adelphi University from 1997-00.

Two days later (Nov. 16), Binghamton opens up its home schedule against NJIT. Other non-conference home games come against Cedar Crest (Nov. 21), Colgate (Dec. 7), Nyack (Dec. 15) and Misericorda (Jan. 4).

On the road, the Bearcats also head to non-conference foes Bucknell (Nov. 18), Canisius (Nov. 25), Xavier (Nov. 28), Brown (Dec. 3), Columbia (Dec. 9) and Sacred Heart (Dec. 12).

America East play tips off with Binghamton traveling to Stony Brook on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Three days later, the Bearcats host New Hampshire in their first home conference game of the season.

Binghamton faces defending champion Albany at the Events Center on Jan. 18 and on the road on Feb. 8.

The Bearcats have three straight conference road games at Vermont (Jan. 21), UMass Lowell (Jan. 24) and UMBC (Jan. 27). Four of Binghamton's final five regular-season games, however, will be played at the Events Center against Hartford (Feb. 11), Vermont (Feb. 16), UMass Lowell (Feb. 20) and UMBC (Feb. 24).

Conference play concludes for Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Maine.

For the second year in a row, the Events Center will host the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the America East Tournament. They will be held on March 5 and 6 respectively. The championship game will be on March 11 at the home court of the highest remaining seed.
