Vestal's Whiteman to play in United World Games

Next year's summer vacation will be anything but ordinary for Vestal High Freshman Gabriel Whiteman. In June of 2016 he will travel to Austria to represent Team USA's 16 & Under men's basketball team in the United World Games. Whiteman is just one of ten players from the east coast and another ten from the west coast selected to represent the US.

"USA is the country where we're from and you want to represent it and do your best for USA," Whiteman said. "To be a part of anything to do with basketball, I want to do and to play out of the country means a lot to me."

The United World Games were created in 2005 and is one of the biggest multi-sport youth events in Europe. The 2016 games will be held from June 16-19 in Austria.
