Town of Triangle Celebrates Something Round with Tomato Festival
Tomatoes are bringing the Town of Triangle together as a whole.
Today the Third Annual Triangle Tomato Festival was held at the Triangle Fire Station. While these wonderful vegetables were a large selling point there were other festivities including children's games and a flea market.
Organizers say the idea is a way of drawing the town together.
"Years ago we had a general store, this kind of thing. It was a meeting place for the people. Now the only thing we have is the fire station. So we have to come together here, this is where you find out what your neighbors are doing, and it's just great," said Co-Organizer of Tomato Festival Gary Burchell.
The fire station will be holding an all you can eat spaghetti dinner next Friday -- followed by a memorial service held in memory of 9-11.
