Syracuse Diocese, Bishop Cunningham host lotteries to see pope
Pope Francis's visit to the US later this month has captured so much attention, the Syracuse Diocese announced it's launched a lottery of its own. Winners will be able to attend Pope Francis's Mass at Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 25. Bishop Robert J. Cunningham of the Archdiocese of New York created a separate lottery, as did Senator Charles Schumer. A recent Quinnipiac University poll found Americans like Pope Francis, with 18 percent of those surveyed saying they had a very favorable opinion of the pope. Forty-eight percent reported a favorable opinion.
